Skylar 2013.10.13, a set on Flickr.
Once more Skylar was a willing photography model for me this weekend.
I took my kids to Martin Mere for a wander during the school holidays. We walked over a wooden bridge and couldn't help but notice this dragonfly sitting quite happily on the handrail.
It wasn't bothered when we were pointing our cameras in its face. It took off once or twice and then landed back on the handrail.
They're fantastic creatures.
We saw these Red Deer when we visited RSPB Leighton Moss recently. One of the things that I always wanted to photograph was some deer.
These were incredible, we watched this group and a pair of males for a good couple of hours.
I've been outside taking photos and making the most of the dry and sunny weather we've been having lately. The number of insects and bugs just in our garden is great, I don't know what a lot of them are but I love photographing them.
Gigrin Farm 2013.08.06, a set on Flickr.
Part of our family holiday this year was a trip down to mid Wales. While we were there we decided to go and see the Red Kites at Gigrin Farm.
We didn't really know what to expect, I'd deliberately tried to avoid checking out any videos or photos of the kites - I just wanted to experience it for myself.
When we arrived at Gigrin Farm we were greeted by the farmer who directed us to the parking and told us where we could find the hides.
We checked out the hides and chose one that we were happy with. Now all we had to do was wait for the kites.
When the kites arrived we were amazed, the birds were absolutely beautiful. I didn't expect anything like this!
The birds circled above the feeding grounds, diving towards the ground before grabbing some food from the floor. They feed on the wing which is fantastic to see as well.
My opinion - well worth the visit.
