I created a karate composite a while back, so I decided to do a similar shot here.
I only had one flash (to camera right), and a reflector to camera left. I cut the subject out in Photoshop and put them together on a grey background.

Simple black and white shot. Two flashes, one to camera left, the other illuminating the background. There's a reflector to camera right too.
Not much post processing, a slight crop and a minor change to the composition. Then a black and white conversion.

I was looking though some old photos the other night and found this one. I think Spencer looks great with a serious look on his face.
So, I did a little post processing on it - slight crop, B&W conversion, little bit of contrast and a bit of exposure.
Anyway, I'm pleased with the final result.

Ok, I had a little fun taking this photo. i knew from the beginning what I wanted the shot to look like, I had a little trouble explaining it to Spencer (he was operating the camera).
Anyway, once he saw the finished photo he understood what I was trying to do.
Obviously there were two photos here - one with me in and one without. The first shot was with me and the iron in the photo, the second was without me and the iron.
The most difficult part was getting my arm out of the shirt sleeve without moving the rest of the shirt.
Thanks to Spencer for helping out.

Liverpool Open Karate 2014.01.26, a set on Flickr.
Couple of photos from the Liverpool Open Karate Competition. I wasn't the official photographer today, so only a couple of shots... Remember to get in touch if you have a comp and need a photographer :o)
